Unbuilt Projects / Part 1

The most satisfying part of being an architect is seeing your project built. In many cases, however, we are only left with drawings and renders as the projects don't always get constructed. In a series of Articles named Unbuilt Projects, I will share few of my projects that were cancelled or not selected as the winning proposal for competitions.

1/ Designed a few years back for Naga Architects, Axiom Town was selected for the second stage of a competition but not as the winning proposal.

2/ For Hessah, designed with CRTKL, we have tried to create a typology where the community aspect of suburban areas were kept by using large private and shared terraces. These terraces are also used to articulate the facade and break the monotony of the overall building's shape.

3/ The last one is a Concept proposal of a residential tower I designed for EMAAR Beachfront. Inspired by a palm tree, the alternate balconies increase the internal natural light and bring dynamism to the facade.
